Why Kommo WhatsApp calls need an integration

  • Kommo has no built-in WhatsApp calling.
  • Without an integration, WhatsApp calls stay on your sales rep’s phone.
  • No history of these calls is saved in the CRM.

What you can do with WhatsApp Business calls

Incoming calls right in Kommo

Answer or decline calls. During a call, you can mute your microphone, end the call, and open the lead.

Talk without a phone

Work in your browser without a separate softphone or SIP telephony. Keep your Kommo tab open and allow microphone access.

Call history in the lead

Every call appears in the lead’s timeline and Kommo’s call statistics with a WhatsApp icon.

Follow-up tasks for missed calls

Optionally enable a "Call back" task for the lead’s responsible user.

Outgoing calls from the lead card

Select "Call via WhatsApp" in the phone number menu. If the client hasn’t given permission yet, send a request to the chat with one click.

A call button for the client

Select "Ask the client to call". The client receives a message with a "Call" button, and the call goes to the lead’s responsible user.

Requirements

  • A WhatsApp Business API (Cloud API) number connected to AnyLinga.
  • A messaging limit of at least 2,000 contacts per day for the number, as required by Meta.
  • The number must not be in coexistence mode—used simultaneously in the WhatsApp Business mobile app.
  • Meta does not charge for incoming calls.
  • Meta charges for outgoing calls by the minute, depending on the client’s country.
  • Numbers from the US, Canada, Egypt, Vietnam, and Nigeria cannot initiate calls: ask the client to call.
  • Video calls are not supported.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get permission to make an outgoing call?

WhatsApp requires the client’s permission before a business can call first. Send a request from Kommo with one click. Once the client allows the call, the responsible user receives a "Call" task in the lead. Meta allows 1 request per day and 2 per week.

What if the client hasn’t messaged in over 24 hours?

The permission request is sent as an approved WhatsApp template in the Kommo account’s language. Meta charges for this message.

Can I choose a number for an outgoing call?

Yes. If you have multiple WABA numbers connected, select the one you want in the "From number" field. By default, the number used in the chat with this client is selected.

What does a sales rep need to take calls?

An open Kommo tab and microphone access enabled. Tested in Chrome. No phone, separate softphone, or SIP telephony is needed.

Do calls work through WhatsApp Web?

No. AnyLinga uses Meta’s official WhatsApp Cloud API, not WhatsApp Web emulation.
